- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - emerging from her closet, carson looked like she had got attacked by clothing. with articles hanging from her arms and some gripped in her hand, she tossed it all on to her bed. with a sigh, she looked over the bundle of colorful dresses and sparkling cardigans and such. why the hell did dances have to be so formal. it wasn't that she didn't like dressing up, she just had the hardest time picking out what she wanted to wear. she had way to many outfits to pick from due to the fact that her parents kept sending money to her that she didn't need so she just spent it on dresses, shoes, shirts and even a designer handbag. no, she was not spoiled. she wasn't even asking for all of this and she couldn't say no to her mom and dad. she thought that would be very rude since they were just showing that they cared. what was she to say? 'stop sending me money and shun me from your life?' no. that would be asinine of her. so, she took the cash and spent it just like they wanted her to!
deciding on a silver dress, carson went back into her closet again, holding it up to her petite body. figuring it wasn't too flashy or out there, she put it on and zipped up the side. she slipped her bare feet into a pair of silver heeled and put in some earrings and stepped in front of the mirror. making a delighted face, she spun around. carson was such a dork and did a lot of strange things and spinning around her room randomly was one of those random things. but, you couldn't help but think it was funny about her. so, after having her fun twirl, she grabbed her purple colored mask and walked out into the hallway where she skipped all the way down to the staircase.
carson's enthusiasm was something zach did not have at the moment. he was actually still laying in bed taking a nap. it was obvious that his alarm on his cell phone did not go off as he planned for it too ten minutes ago. the thing that woke him up was a pound on his door and the voice of deyan berch saying "wake up little mate!" and his loud laugh. the sound made zach wake up, but also fall onto the floor with a loud thud. zach groaned and sat up, looking around his dorm. "shit..." he mumbled as he stood up. good thing he was already dressed, sort of. he put on one of his black blazer that kind of went with his dark denim jeans. yes, jeans. zach was not going to be so formal today. he didn't feel like it. he was very sure that no body would mind. not brook or deyan or anybody. maybe his brothers, but screw them.
walking out of his dorm, he looked up and down the hallway, seeing deyan walking towards the stairs. "hey deyan!" he said running after him while trying to put on his left shoe. deyan spun around. "oh hey little mate! i see you woke up! i knew you were sleeping, i could hear you snoring every time i walked by!" he joked. zach furrowed his brow and walked next him. deyan fiddled with his black masked, trying to fixed it after he had accidentally smashed it under his books. zach didn't even notice this and still hadn't noticed that his mask was still in his dorm lying on the floor after he pushed it off the night before. he had a bad dream. ha.
[/url] i'll get zach and dey later (: notes: COME ON AND POST PEOPLE[/ul]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - isabel was busying herself, running about her room trying to quickly find each and every thing she had already picked out for herself to be wearing. she had gone over her outfit choice over a thousand times, making sure that everything was where she needed to be so she wouldn't spend half her night trying to find whatever she had misplaced. she had started with three choices, but had gone with her last choice, having decided that she didn't want to wear heels, she was more in the mood for comfortable shoes, and well she didn't care what people said about her red dress paired with a pair of sparkly converse. it worked in her opinion and she wasn't very concerned about what anyone else thought. she was more concerned about how she was going to be able to hide her unhappiness tonight. just the thought of happy couples dancing together every here and there drove her to near tears. she wasn't sure how she was going to do when she was stuck watching them. she shook her head, stopping the tears in their tracks before she could start full on sobbing. she didn't want to go to the dance with puffy eyes, even if they would be mostly hidden behind her mask. it would still be easy to tell she had been crying, and right now she didn't want to admit any weakness to anyone, no matter how natural that was. she slipped off her comfortable sweats and her sweatshirt, changing into her slip and red dress. she looked at herself in the mirror, and couldn't help but smile, but only a little. it made her feel better when she had a reason to make herself look pretty, even if it wasn't so much for one person, it still made her happy to be able to dress up. it made her feel like things weren't really all that hopeless. especially not if there were still dances, after all it made everyone else happy. no one deserved to be as sad as she was, and she felt as if it were her own person job to make sure that everyone else stayed happy. she played around with her hair a little, before deciding to just let it stay down and curled. she put on the rest of her makeup before skipping out of her room mask on her head, a little bit happier than she had started the day off as.
down the hall in another room, brooklyn had not been as organized as isabel. everything was thrown in heaps on the floor as she dug around in her closet and cabinets looking for a dress she didn't hate and shoes and other accessories to go with it. she usually wasn't so unorganized as she was at the moment. her life seemed to be turning itself on her every single which way. she didn't seem to be able to tell the difference between up and down, and it was all because everyone was screwing with her head about her and her best friend zach. she'd know the boy since her first day at middle school, and since then she had felt a strange loyalty to the boy, then she'd pegged it as friendship, but now after all the talking everyone seemed to be doing behind her back and the convincing everyone was forcing on her, she knew that wasn't it. she had figured it out herself, even after all the prodding and poking everyone was doing to both her and zach. she knew it wasn't everyone else's opinion that had made her decide, it was what she now knew she had been feeling. honestly, it didn't make it any better to know what was happening, before she had been hoping it would, but now it wasn't helping. she was mad because she had been wrong, and upset because she had fallen for her best friend. it wasn't a good situation, zach was her one good friend she had known for what felt like forever to her, and now she was going to ruin that friendship because of her feelings for him. brook kicked the door in frustration, but hurting her foot, she sank to the ground, burying her head in her hands. everything was far too screwed up in her opinion. she took her hands down, and looked about her room, taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself down. she went back to looking for her shoes, having found a dress, earrings, and even a necklace she liked. her makeup was already done, she just had to find the white and black striped heels that went with the rest of her outfit. she was about ready to give up the digging her in closet when he hands hit the exact item she was looking for. she pulled out the heels, a small smile appearing on her face despite what was happening in her life at the moment, she peeled two band aids and applied them to the back of her heels so the rubbing wouldn't bother her too much. she slipped her shoes on then, and stood up, tugging the bottom of her dress, and messing with the front of her leather jacket. she walked out the door then, not bothering to clean up the mess she had left behind. she could get it later. she had her mask in hand, and waited until he had reached the gym to slip it onto her face, although she knew it really didn't hide who she was all that well.
bryan was also in his dorm room getting ready for the ball, although he was in far better shape than either of the two girls who had left before him. his life was easy, nothing was going wrong for this boy. his main problem the entire week had been finding a tie that was crazy enough for him, in truth he had spent quite a few hours out and about trying to find a tie that he thought made absolutely no sense, it was his goal, and would hopefully be a good way to start a conversation with anyone, after all what else was he supposed to say? i like your dress? or maybe wow! killer outfit? no. he didn't do that, this way people would come to talk to him, he wouldn't have to do any work, and he wouldn't have to do anything. it was his way of making his laziness work for him, more work now meant less to do later. although he did have one more problem, he was all dressed aside from his mask and his tie. the tie was hanging around his neck, he had no idea how to tie it. he's already tried at least ten methods in the past three minutes, but nothing seemed to be working. an idea popped into his head then, and he grinned, wondering how he hadn't thought of that before. he flipped on his computer, trying to tie it a few more times as he waited for it to boot up and the internet to load up. he gave up then, and moved his mouse clicking the internet icon. he switched the page to google, and searched 'how to tie a tie'. yep, it had taken him at least twenty failed tires to decide to google it. he was now wondering why he hadn't thought of that first. google was practically his best friend, it kept him from looking like a complete idiot. he found what he needed quickly, and he copied what the directions told him to do exactly, the first attempt failed, but he tried it again, and got it. he looked down at his ice cream tie, and grinned a little to himself. dammit, but now he wanted ice cream... this thought made him wonder if they had any at the dance, and while he doubted it, he still left the room, mask covering his eyes, entering the gym. he looked around to see who else was here, but didn't really recognize anyone he knew, not just because of the masks, but also because he was fairly new to school as well.

Seth had never been more nervous in his life. He thought he was a terrible dancer, he didn't think he looked all that great in a tuxedo, and he wasn't sure he'd be able to find Carson under the masks. He also just didn't understand masquerade balls. The only dance he knew at all was the waltz. And he didn't even have coffee since the morning. He could really use a coffee to soothe his nerves, but there was no more time. Seth put on the tux and glanced at himself in the mirror. He looked alright. It could be better, but oh well. He grabbed his black mask and put it on, sighing as he left his room. This was definitely a new experience, and he wasn't sure whether it was good or not. Seth still had a bit of fear about Brendon, whether it was right to just be open about being with Carson like that if he was going to be around. He still felt guilty, and he wasn't sure how long that feeling would last. But it kept him from being sure that what he was doing was right. He felt that he loved Carson, but he couldn't know for sure if what he was feeling was love, or just a very strong like.
He didn't care much about the disguise things, his curly hair hadn't been messed with. Seth felt it was best to make sure that Carson could find him. He bit his lip anxiously as he headed down the steps, watching several other people walk guy, in various forms of clothing. He rubbed his neck awkwardly, seeing several girls sporting some very iffy looking dresses. It made his cheeks turn bright red just seeing them, and he hoped that Carson wouldn't be wearing something as....well frightening as those. He entered the gym and glanced around in complete bewilderment. He had no idea what to do. So many masked people. Seth just stared. How the hell was he going to find Carson in this jumble of people? Seth's brown eyes glanced at people, still sort of dazed at the fanciness of the ball. Another thing was, he had a gift for Carson, in his tuxedo pocket. He wasn't sure when he'd give it to her, or if he even would today, but it did make him even more worried. Seth wasn't sure that Carson would like his gift. He was such a nervous wreck, he was lucky that he hadn't fallen over yet.
He drifted to the side, watching as people started to dance. Seth felt awkward. It was like he was intruding in one of those movies. Like he was the nerd, ditched by the hot date or something. Seth really doubted that Carson would do that to him, but it was just this funny feeling he got when he saw people dance like that, oblivious to everyone else around them. Seth crossed his arms and thought longingly about coffee. See, coffee was uncomplicated. Sure, you could spice it up with a few added ingredients, but in general, it remained the same thing. Coffee didn't usually surprise you much. But girls, yes they did a lot. They changed their hair, put on make up, mixed up their clothes, and styled themselves differently depending on their moods. Dear god they were confusing. Plus they asked those questions where he always had to say the truth. But Carson wasn't insecure about herself. She didn't need to ask those things. And she was so outgoing to his shy. It was nice because she sort of pushed him to do things. And that was something his mother had tried so hard to get him to do.

It was just about time. Not only were they having a dance, it was to be a masquerade. Scott thought that this would actually make things a lot more fun. Not only would he be able to flirt with a magnitude of other ladies, they would have no idea who he was. Oh the games he came up with. There was also the fact that his ex girlfriend wouldn’t know who he was either. He hoped to keep it that was as he didn’t want to cause a scene. Why was it that girls were always causing scenes? Someone could make millions of dollars by writing a book about that. Scott glanced at the clock and was surprised to see that he was going to be late. The boy looked in his closet to find his only suit nice and neat from when he brought it back from the dry cleaners. He put it on along with his only dress shoes and the mask he spent almost all of his money on. That probably wasn’t such a smart idea. But he liked this mask very much. It matched his pinstripes. He turned around and looked at himself in the mirror. Pretty much perfect. He could find no fault in his reflection. No fault at all. He had to do something with his hair though. He couldn’t just leave it there. But a little hair gel could fix that easily. He heard people coming down the hallway so he knew that he wasn’t the only one late. He peeked outside the door to see two guys on their way to the gymnasium. He decided just to follow them.
Naomi was having a very hard time deciding what she would wear. Right now, she had two dresses laid out on her bed. Oddly enough, both of them were the color purple. She just couldn’t decide whether she wanted to go with the long and elegant one or the short and flirty one. She had a whole ensemble picked out for both of them. But it was really the masks that did it. She loved the one that went with the long dress. It was so pretty. So that decision was settled. This was probably the only thing Naomi hated about dances. She could never decide what to wear. She had never gotten ready with someone else before so she never knew if all girls were like this, or if it was because of her ADD. At least she only had less than a dozen dresses to choose from. The blonde carefully slid into the long gown and matching shoes and jewelry. The next thing she had to do was her hair and make-up. She decided to go with a smoky purple look on her eyes and a pink tinted lip gloss on her lips. She left her hair wavy and just used some bobby pins to pin back the sides. She just really couldn’t wait to start dancing. She loved it. But she had no idea how she would recognize anyone. She assumed that was the point. Finally, she carefully pinned her mask in place. Hopefully it wouldn’t fall off. That would be embarrassing. She made her way down to the gymnasium. She had to be careful or else she would fall because she was wearing high heels. On second thought, that was not a good decision on her part.

--------------------------------------MAXXTORIA Victoria was struggling with her hair that night. She'd tried to get a perm a couple days ago and now it was everywhere. She needed her straightening iron-and fast.Shit she was still in her freaking robe, wanting to get her hair and makeup done first. She pulled the brush through a mass of tangles, then pulled her straightening iron through the "jungle" not quite straightening it,just making the curly back to their natural state. Then she put on a little eyeliner,a little glitter shadow, and some lip stain. She checked the time on a nearby clock."HOLY CRAP!" she cried, rushing into her room down the hall from the bathroom. She took off the robe and replaced it with her dress, having a little trouble with no one to help her.She took off her slippers and pulled on on her heels and grabbed her purse. She then tied on her mask by the dainty ribbons on it,and left for Maxx's house. He couldnt drive, who else would pick him up?
Maxx however, was having no trouble whatsoever. He showered, blowdried and straightened his hair, put on some cologne. He pulled on his dress pants, dress shirt, converse, and then his mask.Ugh the mask, stupid little gay thing. He simply did not want to wear it.It wasn't romantic,it made you look freaking creepy."piece of crap"he murmered to himself as he pulled on the mask. Then he heard an all too farmiliar voice through the open window
"GET IN LOSER,WE'RE GOING MASQUERADING!"yelled Victoria, followed by a series of high-pitched giggles."IM COMING VICKY,JUST HOLD ON" came Maxx's annoyed reply."YOURE WHAT?!? EW! I DIDNT WANT TO INTERRUPT THAT" Maxx laughed,"I DIDNT MEAN IT LIKE THAT" More giggles from outside. Was she finally done? Was she shutting up? "I KNOW!" Maxx gave an annoyed sigh as he put on his suitjacket, rolling his eyes as he joined victoria in her little Prius.
She drove like a maniac,he noticed.Well not exactly, but she drove with one hand, with the music 0n full blast, while on the cell phone with her mom.Maxx rolled his eyes. She was not going to be his driving mentor. Then finally they got there right before Maxx got carsick.Victoria suddenly looked nervous."Whats wrong Vicky?"he was the only one who ever called her Vicky.Anyone else had a 50% chance of getting bitch slapped by a girl with a sharp manicure."Remember that dare I told you about.Yeah.Well.I havent looked at him yet" Maxx began to laugh, and Victoria was outraged by it so she punched him in the shoulder."THAT MEANS YOU HAVE TO--"he was cut off my victoria's palm covering his palm, which he licked and she squealed and let go of his face lecturing him about how unhygenic that was "relax vicky,i thought you said he liked you too?" Victoria nodded "well then it should be no problem.and dont worry about your hand.all you should be worried about is catching mono after that kiss"Then Maxx ran away into the gym, praising God that he had worn converse.Victoria just looked angry, blushing insanely as she walked inside in her heels indignagantly. She looked around for a farmiliar face, any farmiliar face."Oh shit"she muttered."We're all wearing masks"it had just dawned on her. This is were she did a good -face/palm- and sighed. It was going to be a longgg night.Maxx however was running around and dancing with all the girls. What a dork.He wasn't dancing like a loser or a pervert, just a dorky 'gentleman'
